Darling Dino

Last week we did an adorable cake for actress Kritsy Swanson's son Magnus. It was his third birthday and he loves dinosaurs. So we made a cake with the cutest, friendliest dinosaur you've ever seen. It turned out very Bedrock-like (i.e. - The Flintstones) and I couldn't love this dino more. We put some chocolate rocks around him and he was perfect!

Designer Cupcake Tower

Cupcake towers aren't just for kids! This creation was for a 40th birthday party and what better way to celebrate than cupcakes and Chanel.... that's my kind of combo.

The Chanel purse on top of the cake was made out of rice krispies treats which we sculpted to form the purse shape and than covered and decorated with fondant. Trick of the day - if your black fondant is dull from working with it, paint on a thin coat of any clear alcohol (i.e. - vodka) - it shines it right up! We incorporated the black rose and pearls which are very characteristic of Chanel.

For the cupcakes we sculpted each one of the designer purses by hand from fondant.... tedious, but so so cute!

Hello Halo!!

We had a very challenging order this week - a Halo helmet cake! I was very excited for this order and I think it turned out pretty cool. We started with a 6" cake and cut out fondant piece by piece and covered the cake until it looked like the helmet. Then we painted the entire cake by hand and walaaa - Halo Helmet!! We also made some Halo 3 logo cupcakes to go along with it. The customer was thrilled and so was I!

Football Season Sweets!

Last week Texas put up a good fight at the Rose Bowl and Sweet E's was there to root them on. We made Texas Longhorn cupcakes for Vince Young and #80 cupcakes for Bo Scaife, both former UT football players. My Longhorn pride was in full force and although we didn't win this year at least we had some Sweet E's comfort!

Food Network- Cupcake Wars!

Yesterday was my first appearance on the Food Network! I was so excited to be a part of Cupcake Wars and the show was so much fun to shoot - I can say that now, but at the time it was really nerve racking. It was very surreal to watch the show come together and I'll say it's a little crazy to watch yourself on TV. All in all it was amazing exposure and I couldn't be happier with how Sweet E's was portrayed. Thank you to Food Network for giving me this great opportunity and I can't wait to hopefully get the chance to do it again!

Thank you for all Sweet E's fans who have helped my business grow!
If you missed the show, it will air again on January 2nd at 4pm ET/PT!
