Do you ever just want 1 freshly baked cupcake? Because I do…like every other day!
So I would like to share with you my best kept secret recipe that yields 2 chocolate cupcakes! I know, I know, try to contain your excitement! 😉
This recipe is PERFECT for single women like myself who want to indulge in chocolate goodness on a daily basis.
Not only am I going to share my secret recipe with you, I am going to show you a cute way to turn it into cheap and thoughtful gift!
Here is what you will need:
-3 Tablespoons Flour
-2 Tablespoons Sugar
– 1 1/2 Teaspoons Cocoa Powder
-1/8 teaspoon baking soda
-Pinch of salt
-1 Tablespoon of Regular or Vegan Chocolate Chips
-2 Tablespoons Cold Water
-1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
-3 drops of Vanilla Extract
Step 1: Fill 1st Mason Jar (Dry)
Start by layering all of your dry ingredients into a small (4-6oz) mason jar. Your dry ingredients include: Flour, Sugar, Cocoa Powder, baking soda, salt, Chocolate Chips. Once filled, close the jar.
Step 2: Fill 2nd Mason Jar (Wet)
Fill your 2nd jar with all your wet ingredients! (oil, water & vanilla) Once you have measured out your ingredients, put the lid on the jar. (make sure the lid is on securely so the liquid doesn’t leak out.)
Step 3: Package Ingredients into a Gift Tower!
Today, I am using these amazing silicone baking cups by The New York Baking Company! They are reusable, durable, and come in awesome colors! I love using these cupcake liners because 1) they are environmentally friendly 2) you don’t even need a cupcake pan for these & 3) they are affordable! You can purchase them right HERE!
Start by placing your “Dry” jar on the bottom, then 2 of your silicone baking cups, and top it off with your “Wet” jar creating a tower of ingredients!
Use ribbon to tie all three together and add a cute little tag like the one above! “Chocolate Cupcakes for 2…or just for YOU!” yes, I thought of that all by myself 😉 haha

And thats it! What a nice looking gift! 😉 I know I would be quite ecstatic receiving a present like this one! I would most likely keep it in my “Emergency Kit” since I’ve never met a problem a chocolate cupcake can’t fix.
Now, to walk you through the baking process…
Step 1: Combine all Dry Ingredients
Lightly whisk all dry ingredients together until blended.
Step 2: Add all Wet Ingredients
Add your jar of wet ingredients and whisk until fully combined with the drys.
Step 3: Separate Batter
Separate your batter into 2 of your “Silicone Baking Cups” Place your baking cups on a flat baking sheet.
Notice how the baking cups never lose their shape? So cool!
Sweet Tip: I added some extra chocolate chips on top of my cupcake so it was extra chocolatey! (this comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!)
Step 4: BAKING TIME!
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F & Bake your cupcakes for 18 min.
Once your cupcakes are done, try to contain yourself and let them fully cool before trying to eat them… I didn’t have much luck. (it was gone in 0.5 seconds)
These are the type of cupcakes that you do NOT need frosting for, but if you insist on adding icing to your cupcake, I have added a simple recipe below for a chocolate icing for 2 cupcakes 😉
-1 Tablespoon Butter
-1 Tablespoon + 2 Teaspoons Cocoa Powder
-3 Tablespoons Powdered Sugar
-1 Teaspoon Heavy whipping cream
– 1 Tiny Pinch of Salt
Melt the butter in a small bowl and then all the other ingredients and whisk to combine. Place frosting in the fridge for 10-15 minutes until frosting is set.
