Baking with Bree- diy Candy Turkeys

Today I am going to teach you how to make these adorable Thanksgiving Turkeys out of Candy! These candy turkeys are easy, fun & kids LOVE making them!

This is what you will need:

-Reeses Peanut Butter Cups

-Candy Corn

-White Chocolate

Step 1: Seperate your Oreo. (carefully)DSC_0709Step 2: Melt the White Chocolate.

An easy way to melt your chocolate is by placing it in the microwave for 1.5 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Make sure to constantly stir to avoid burning your chocolate.

Step 3: Add Candy Corn

step2¬†Using a small paint brush or toothpick dab your melted white chocolate onto one side of the Oreo. Place your candy corn in a “fan” formation on top of 1/2 of the Oreo (see above photo) Use extra chocolate to secure.

Step 4: Close the Cookie.

Place the other half of the Oreo on top, sandwiching the candy corn. Hold until chocolate hardens. (approx. 30 seconds)

Step 5: Cut & Secure Cookie.

step3Once the chocolate in between your cookie has hardened, cut a small piece off of the Oreo to give it a flat bottom. After you cut the Oreo, dip the flat end into your chocolate and place the Oreo on top of another Oreo that is flat (see above photo for reference)

Step 6: Add the Reeses “Body”

step4Lightly dip your Reeses into the chocolate and secure it to the top Oreo.

Step 7: Add the Whopper “Head”

step5Lightly dip your Whopper into the chocolate and secure it on top of the Reeses.

Step 8: Add the Details

step6I started off by drawing the Turkey’s eyes and moved down from there. (helpful hint: I used the tip of a candy corn for his beak!)
